Kelp for Dogs
Kelp can help improve a dog’s skin and coat condition, provide high levels of cancer fighting antioxidants and is excellent for the overall health of dogs.
Grown in underwater forests known as kelp forests generally in the cooler, shallower parts of our oceans, kelp is thought to have been with us for up to 23 million years. Full of vitamins and minerals and particularly rich in amino acids, there are many good reasons why it’s so highly recommended and why it should regularly feature in your dog’s food bowl and have a permanent place in your dog’s homemade dog food pantry.
A type of underwater seaweed, energy-rich kelp is considered by many today to be a true superfood. Rich in vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6, B12, C and K, kelp is a particularly rich source of iodine which is essential for healthy thyroid function. It is also a good source of iron, manganese, calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper, zinc.
Kelp can help improve a dog’s skin and coat condition, provides high levels of cancer fighting antioxidants, can help fight diabetes and heart complaints, helps support the immune system and is excellent for the overall health of dogs.
So don’t be put off by the look of the slimy green stuff you see on your summer holidays by the sea. Nutrient-rich kelp has an awful lot going for it for both you and your dog!
