Natural Goodness for Improved Canine Health

Simple Turkey Dinner

Grain & gluten free turkey recipe

Making homemade dog food doesn’t have to be complicated. A slow cooker, some lean turkey mince, fruit and vegetables, a spoonful of our Poultry Herb Blend, some oil and a little of our Eggshell Powder for essential calcium is all this one takes. Simples!

If you’re still feeding your dog commercial dog food, we would suggest using this meal as a dressing or topping by combining the two over the course of three or four days. Reduce your dog’s other food accordingly so as to avoid unhealthy weight gain.

As always, there’s no reason why this simple recipe could not be enjoyed by you and your entire family. Every ingredient is passed fit for human consumption so providing your dog is happy about it, add enough extra veggies to go round, slice up some nice crusty bread and tuck in!

INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Most of the goodness in fruit and vegetables tends to be close to the surface so don’t peel and throw away the best bits! Add the vegetables together with the turkey mince and the Poultry Herb Blend to a slow cooker. Add 568ml (1 pint) of water, stir and leave to cook for 2 to 6 hours depending on your slow cooker. Top up with water as necessary. (When we make this we use the nutrient-rich vegetable water saved from our own meal the previous evening). Allow to cool before apportioning and/or serving. Either freeze what you don’t immediately need or keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
