Dulse is dog-friendly!
Dulse or sea lettuce (also known as sea parsley) is an edible seaweed or sea vegetable native to the northern coasts of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Technically an algae, it is known to have been an important source of dietary fibre for well over a thousand years, and going back to pre-recorded history, has almost certainly been used as a food source for a great deal longer than that.
Benefits of Dulse:
Fat and cholesterol free, dulse is high in protein and essential vitamins and minerals. A good source of iron, it is also an excellent source of iodine, vitamin B6 and potassium, and contains trace elements of magnesium, copper, zinc and manganese.
Dulse can help maintain healthy thyroid function.
